Villa Giovannina Corfu

The Villa

Villa Giovannina has been in the same family for four generations. Having recently undergone a huge restoration program, the result is a first class desirable residence with high quality fixtures and fittings with the most magical of views right down the south east coast of the island.

The Villa is set on the hillside road leading up to the Achilleion Palace, a pleasant afternoon walk of half an hour, where tavernas and coffee bars can also be found. The view from the veranda stretches across the bay, with the fishing village of Benitses and its marina clearly visible. The beach is a downhill stroll of a few minutes, where you will also find a small supermarket, mainline bus stop to Corfu Town, as well as to the South of the island.

As previously mentioned, the house has just been completely renovated to a very high standard, boasting amongst other things; Central air conditioning in all rooms, swimming pool with hydro-massage and a small gym with a massage table. An eco-friendly philosophy has been adopted, which includes all beds and bedding being provided by Coco Mat, an internationally known company that uses only natural materials in its products. A good nights sleep is guaranteed!

About us

Welcome to Villa Giovannina.

By choosing Corfu as your destination, you are following in the footsteps of the Greek hero Ulysses. The rule of “philoxenia” hospitality that welcomed him is what we strive to provide for all our guests who select Villa Giovannina as their holiday home. It is an ideal base from which to start your holiday adventures or an equally restful place to renew and restore the spirit both inside the beautifully decorated house or gazing out across the uninterrupted view of the Ionian Sea by the pool.

The villa is set on the gently sloping south-east coast of the island, amongst ancient olive and cypress trees, that give shade and texture to the horizon. The wonderful sunrise should be seen at least once during your stay and the swallows diving out of the brilliant blue sky into the turquoise blue of the pool is a joy to behold…

Points of interest

Cape Drastis (wild, natural beach)
Cape Drastis is the northwesternmost point of Corfu island. But what makes it a sight is the weird shape of the cliffs with tiny sea caves and peculiar formations with a few sandy strips between them. When climate conditions allow, Cape Drastis can be visited by boat. The small beaches between the cliffs have fine sand which resembles clay and the sea bottom is shallow but due to the strong winds which often blow in this part of the island, it is not recommendable for kids. You can also go to Cape Drastis by car and see it from above - you need.. ..Read more
Erimitis (wild, natural beach)
Erimitis beach is an unspoiled paradise is full of small cute coves separated by small promontories that give beautiful scenery to the landscape. Every cove here is a small pebble beach of unique beauty, all of which are isolated and can be visited only by the sea. Starting from Kassiopi and go to the east we find the following cute tiny beaches: Avlaki, Vouvalomantria beach, Vrachli beach, Tzoufakia, the Arias beach, Akoli, Vromolimni, Kaminakia beach, Korfovounia, Aspalathras, and Xylokeratia beach. Let`s note that all these beaches are pebble and no sand, the waters are extremely clear and clean. ..Read more
Porto Timoni (wild, natural beach)
Porto Timoni is the name of a double beach near Afionas village, on the west coast of Corfu island. It is a scenic place and deserves to be classified as a sightseeing, both natural and historical because in antiquity it was a harbor and had fortress built there. The turquoise color of the sea contrasts to the high green hills surrounding it and its not so easy access makes it even more special once you get there. Porto Timoni can be reached in two ways: on foot from Afionas village or by boat or pedalo from the nearby resorts. For those who are interested to visit.. ..Read more
Issos (wild,natural beach)
Issos beach is one of the best Corfiot beaches, belongs to the village of Chlomos, about 20 km from Corfu town on the west side of the island. Ιn terms of tourist exploitation it remains virgin because it belongs, along with neighboring Halikounas, to the protected “natura” area of Korission lagoon. So there you will not find hotels or numerous bars and shops, but only a large natural open area used as parking, and endless sand with dunes and crystal clear waters. ..Read more
Halikounas (wild,natural beach)
Halikounas beach is ideally located 25 km southwestern of Corfu town. The sandy beach that stretches for more than 3 km is considered one of the most beautiful coastal areas in the Ionian complex. Halikounas is ideal for those who love water sports as well. The mile-long sandy beach and the lunch regularly occurring side-shore wind from the north-western ensure optimal conditions for kite surf. A road separates the beach with the famous Lake Korission, one of the main attractions of the area which is the home for numerous endangered bird species. It is nestled in the midst of green.. ..Read more
